Kenya seeks closer partnership with Oman in the Blue Economy sector

Kenya has expressed interest in strengthening its partnership with Oman in the blue economy sector, aiming to benefit the people of both countries.

Mining, Blue Economy, and Maritime Affairs Cabinet Secretary Hassan Ali Joho emphasized that his ministry is committed to collaborating with partners across various sectors to revitalize the blue economy. This initiative aims to ensure that Kenyans living in the coastal region and around inland water bodies reap the benefits.

The Cabinet Secretary made these remarks during a meeting with Oman's Ambassador to Kenya, H.E. Nasra Salim Mohamed Alhashmi, who paid him a courtesy visit at his office in Nairobi.

“Our collaboration in the blue economy is part of a deliberate effort to enhance the sector for the benefit of the people of our respective countries. I look forward to Oman and Kenya forging a closer partnership in this sector,” said CS Joho.

The meeting was also attended by Blue Economy and Fisheries Principal Secretary Betsy Njagi
